QCF Vocational Qualifications (formerly NVQ)

Please note NVQ’s have been replaced by new qualifications on the Qualifications & Credit Framework (QCF).  The content of most qualifications is broadly the same but there is more emphasis on knowledge as well as competence.

Vocational qualifications involve providing evidence of competence in your current role.  They are delivered in the workplace but will require regular release from work responsibilities to meet your assessor and work on your portfolio.  Please enquire for more details.

The subject areas on offer are:

Access to HE (Health Studies) Diploma Level 3

Business Administration (Level 2 and 3)

Cleaning and Support Services (Level 1 & 2)

Customer Service (Level 2 and 3)

Health and Social Care (Level 2 and 3)

       ILM Management (Level 3)

       IT (Levels 1, 2 and 3)

       Passenger Transport (Level 2)

Support Services in Healthcare (Level 2)

       Team Leading (Level 2)

Training Policy

Vocational Qualifications are supported by the Trust as part of essential or core business training.  Vocational learning should be discussed, agreed and recorded as part of regular supervision and PDR.  This discussion should focus on benefits to service users, impact on quality of care and affordability.

In the current economic climate we will not be able to support any training and education which is purely focused on personal development and that does not directly support service delivery.
